BC born Jake Skogstad commits to Bucks for 2024-25

The Cranbrook Bucks have a new forward set to join the herd next season.

The club is welcoming Jake Skogstad, a 2007-born forward from Kelowna, who joins the Bucks after spending the last several seasons with the CSSHL’s Rink Hockey Academy program.

Skogstad put up 34 points through 30 games with the Kelowna club through 2023-24 as a U18.

The Okanagan product is no stranger to the Bucks, Skogstad hit the ice through training camp and a handful of preseason games last year after committing to the club following its 2023 spring camp.

Bucks head coach Ryan Donald looks forward to having Skogstad in the fold for the upcoming campaign.

“Jake’s leadership qualities, his ability to play a 200 foot game and be relied upon to play both sides of the puck is exciting to work with,” Donald says. “We are excited to have Jake join our organization and help him continue his growth and development towards becoming an NCAA D1 athlete.”

The Cranbrook Bucks wish to welcome Jake to the herd and to the City of Cranbrook.
